Casa Quetzal is a fun vacation rental on a large lot with comfortable living spaces both inside and out. A privacy wall surrounds the property, a vine covered archway leads to a lush interior garden brimming with exotic tropical plants and colorful blooming flowers. Bright red hibiscus and yellow copa de oro (cup of gold) blossoms adorn the manicured garden. Fruit juicy limes dangle from tree branches. Ahhh, this must be paradise!

A large swimming pool tucked in the corner of the colorful backyard features oversize Mexican pots with water spilling gently into the pool. A palapa near the pool is a perfect gathering spot for a cup of coffee in the morning or an ice-cold cervesa in the evening. Toss a couple of burgers or shrimp on the built-in BBQ and enjoy a special meal in this tropical setting. Divers will appreciate the outdoor shower and rinse tank area.

Just off the entry area is a unique bar that has been hand crafted from gnarled wood with 4 stools. What a great place to enjoy a happy hour toast! Living room is furnished with rattan sofas and chairs in vivid blue; TV, DVD player and stereo are provided for your entertainment pleasure.

Dining room seats 6 at the carved glasstop wood table with matching rustic style cushioned chairs. There's a desk in this area; bring your laptop and hook up to the internet and surf the internet or send e-mails to the poor souls back home; you'll also find a telephone for local calls as well as free long distance back to the US or Canada.

Quetzal, named for the sacred bird of Mexico, uses a bird theme throughout the property, including the ceramic tile in the kitchen, furnishings and artwork. Full kitchen has all that you need to prepare everything from morning coffee to a complete meal. You can do as much dining in as you choose, but don't miss the opportunity to sample some of the terrific restaurants on the island!

Two bedrooms are beyond the kitchen. First bedroom has a king size bed (can be split into two twins upon request) and uses the bath located off the hall. Master bedroom has king bed, private bath with tub and shower, phone and views of the palapa area.
