Located on the south end of the expansive beach of Aventuras Akumal beach Casa Palapa is only 20 minutes from Tulum or Playa del Carmen.
Inside and out, you'll find great spaces for relaxation. Living room is comfortably furnished with coordinating sofas and chair, coffee table, bookcase with reading materials, and a TV with DVD (bring your favorite DVDs). There's a great view of the beach from the living room and sliding glass doors lead to the beachfront patio. The patio has several chairs and great views of this super sandy Caribbean beach. You also find several chaise lounges and a thatched roof palapa with two hammocks (perfect for an afternoon nap or settle in with your favorite book).
Take an early morning walk along the palm-studded beach; cool off in the ocean during midday, take advantage of the good snorkeling on the northern end of the beach, or enjoy an evening stroll down the beach as the sun sets. Anytime is a good time at the beach on Aventuras beach.
From May through October, it is not unusual to see turtles along the beach in this area as it is a major turtle nesting beach. It is fascinating to witness, but please follow turtle protocol so that you do not disturb them.
If you can pull yourself away from the spectacular beach, visit some of the local sites such as the ruins of Tulum and Coba, eco-parks of Xcaret or Xel-ha, explore the jungle cenotes, go fishing or diving . . . you'll have plenty of activities for all ages.
Casa Palapa has three air conditioned second-story beachfront bedrooms, all with sliding glass doors to oceanfront balconies. You may want to skip the air conditioning and enjoy the gentle ocean breezes. Master bedroom has a private bath; the other 2 bedrooms share a bath.
CASITA DEBITA a guest house efficiency apartment is available as a fourth bedroom. Casita Debita is on the property in front of Casa Palapa. Debita has a kitchen, dining area, living room, private bath. It has a king size bed and can sleep 2 guests. Casita Debita can also be rented independently from the main house. It's a wonderful spot for a couple to spend a week in paradise at a very affordable price.
